Pendant Vinaigrette Charm Sterling Silver Novelty Acorn Form Antique c1820

Description

Small acorn-form sterling silver pendant vinaigrette.  It is approximately 1.125" (2.9cm) in length.  The piece is hallmarked for Birmingham, but the date mark is almost completely rubbed off.  The maker's mark looks like it could be "HM."  No damage aside from normal wear.
"Sterling silver vinaigrettes are small decorative boxes that were used during periods of travel, as a more accessible and practical alternative method of carrying perfume and scents than moving large glass bottles and vials. The perfume, or aromatic vinegar, would be contained within these boxes soaked in a sponge."
